Introducing FamSpot

FamSpot started with a simple wish: to know everyone got home without sending “where are you?” five times a day.

Most family locators answer that by watching everyone constantly and sending a notification for every move. We wanted the opposite: a calm map you can glance at, and a few well-timed messages when something actually happens.

What it does

  • A live family map. Everyone who shares appears on one map, with their battery level and when they last updated.
  • Places that matter. Save Home, School or Work once. FamSpot tells the people you choose when someone arrives or leaves.
  • Check-ins and SOS. “I’m safe” is one tap. SOS asks you to hold for two seconds, so it’s never sent by accident.
  • A safety log. The phone notes a possible accident, a fall, a sudden stop or high speed, with the time and place.
  • Everyday life. Shared chores with points, and a private family chat.

Private by default

Your location is shared with your family and nobody else. There are no ads, no data sales and no tracking libraries in the app. You can pause, blur your spot to an approximate area, or stop sharing at any time, and history is removed after 30 days.

What’s next

We’re working on drive reports for new drivers and a Live ETA you can share from the car. If there’s something your family needs, tell us. We read every message.
